Decal fixator

GSW Decal Fixer helps the application of decals on surfaces of models, miniatures and dioramas. The GSW Decal Fixer prepares the surface with special agents that soften the solvents of modern paints making the decals stronger and the glue stronger. In addition, the decal fixator makes the decal more flexible and increases its adherence, preventing the silvery effect.

GUIDELINES

1.- Before applying a decal to your model, apply some GSW Decal Fixer on the surface of the model on which you intend to apply the decal. GSW Decal Fixer protects the underlying paint and smoothes the surface, thus helping to prevent silvering. Use a brush to gently push the decal from the sheet and onto the model. If it is difficult to move the decal, adding a little more GSW decal fixator or water will help the decal float on the surface until it is properly positioned.
2.- If the surface on which you want to apply the flat decal is curved, like a shoulder strap, your decal may wrinkle. To avoid this, once the decal is applied, apply the GSW decal softener. Let the fabric softener react and will help remove wrinkles, as it adapts to the curved surface below. Repeat this step 2-3 times until wrinkles are removed.
Remove the excess with a cotton swab to remove the liquid trapped between the decal and the surface. Roll the pad on the decal so that it does not rise from the surface. You can also use a paper towel to press on the decal with a rotary motion to remove excess fluid. Using GSW decal softener, embossed cuts to remove wrinkles in the decal will not be necessary.
3.- Finally apply GSW Decal Fixer again to the decal and the surface of the model on which we worked to unify the surface. Coat it normally with matte or glossy paint if you feel it necessary to remove or add a glossy finish.
